Recently, Eve Teasing has become a major issue for the
general public. The majority of the time, Eve-teasing affects female students
in secondary school and college. At the crossroads of the road, three to four
young boys or possibly more older boys may be seen waiting.
They have long hair and odd fashionable clothes. Some of
them use cigarettes. They make comments toward every one young woman or girl
they see walking by. The girls or women feel very degraded and ashamed at this
point. Even the mother of a girl is not safe from Eve Teasing.
Girls now face a really tough situation as a result. When
somebody complains to Eve-teasing, the teasers get forceful and threaten the
objector. They even threaten to kill the girls or torment them physically. It
is really tough to deal with the situation in this regard. Going out scared
girls.
Even visiting schools and universities makes them feel
uncomfortable. The government is well aware of the need to end this misconduct.
The government has already given mobile courts the power to stop eve-teasing.
Anyone found guilty of harassing or stalking a woman risks a
year in prison, a fine of about $70,00, or both. The mobile court has the power
to swiftly punish the eve-teasers. The designation of June 13 as Eve-Teasing
Protection Day by the Education Ministry is another attempt to address this
social problem.

সম্প্রতি,
ইভটিজিং সাধারণ মানুষের কাছে একটি প্রধান সমস্যা হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। বেশিরভাগ সময়, ইভ-টিজিং মাধ্যমিক
স্কুল এবং কলেজের মহিলা শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রভাবিত করে। রাস্তার মোড়ে তিন থেকে চারজন যুবক বা সম্ভবত আরও
বয়স্ক ছেলেদের অপেক্ষা করতে দেখা যায়।
তাদের
লম্বা চুল এবং অদ্ভুত ফ্যাশনেবল পোশাক রয়েছে। তাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ সিগারেট ব্যবহার করে। তারা হেঁটে যেতে দেখে প্রতিটি যুবতী বা মেয়ের দিকে
মন্তব্য করে। মেয়েরা বা মহিলারা এই
সময়ে খুব অপমানিত এবং লজ্জিত বোধ করে। এমনকি একটি মেয়ের মাও ইভটিজিং থেকে নিরাপদ নয়।
ফলে
মেয়েরা এখন সত্যিই কঠিন পরিস্থিতির সম্মুখীন। কেউ ইভটিজিংয়ের অভিযোগ করলে, টিজাররা জোর করে আপত্তিকারীকে হুমকি দেয়। এমনকি তারা মেয়েদের হত্যা বা শারীরিক নির্যাতনের
হুমকিও দেয়। এই ক্ষেত্রে পরিস্থিতি
মোকাবেলা করা সত্যিই কঠিন। মেয়েরা ভয় পেয়ে বাইরে যায়।
এমনকি
স্কুল এবং বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পরিদর্শন তাদের অস্বস্তি বোধ করে। সরকার এই অসদাচরণ বন্ধ
করার প্রয়োজনীয়তা সম্পর্কে ভালভাবে জানে। সরকার ইতিমধ্যেই ইভটিজিং বন্ধে মোবাইল কোর্টকে ক্ষমতা দিয়েছে।
যে
কেউ একজন মহিলাকে হয়রানি বা তাড়া করার
জন্য দোষী সাব্যস্ত হলে এক বছরের জেল,
প্রায় $70,00 জরিমানা বা উভয়ই হতে
পারে। ভ্রাম্যমাণ আদালতের ইভটিজারদের দ্রুত শাস্তি দেওয়ার ক্ষমতা রয়েছে। শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় কর্তৃক 13 জুনকে ইভ-টিজিং সুরক্ষা
